What Is a Racing Simulator?
So you've seen "racing simulator" pop up in your Google searches, maybe in someone's Instagram story, or driving past our flag in Orchard Park. And you've thought: what actually is that?
Great question. Let's break it down.
A Racing Simulator Isn't a Video Game
That's the first thing to understand. When most people hear "racing sim," they picture a kid hunched over a controller playing Forza on the couch. That's not what we do.
A real racing simulator is a full cockpit setup designed to mimic the experience of driving an actual race car. You sit in a real racing seat. You hold a real steering wheel that fights back when you turn it (called a "direct drive" wheel — it can simulate everything from a Formula 1 car's twitchy response to a NASCAR stock car's heft). You press real pedals with load-cell brakes — the harder you press, the more it resists, just like a real brake pedal.
It feels like driving. Because it basically is.
What's Different About Start Your Engines
Here in Orchard Park, NY, we run four professional sim rigs built on Alpine F1 Team chassis — the same brand seen in actual Formula 1 paddocks. Our sims aren't gaming PCs with a $300 wheel from Amazon. They're purpose-built racing platforms running iRacing's commercial license (every track, every car, every car class in the world), plus Assetto Corsa Competizione, F1 25, AMS2, Dirt Rally 2, and VR.
You want to drive a 2024 F1 car at Monaco? You can.
A NASCAR Cup car at Daytona? Yep.
A GT3 around Spa-Francorchamps? Strap in.
A WRC rally car flying sideways through gravel? Let's go.
What's It Like to Actually Drive One?
We get a lot of first-timers in Western New York. The reaction is almost always the same:
First 30 seconds: "Wait, this is harder than I thought." (Yes — these cars are real. They behave like real cars.)
First 5 minutes: "Okay, I'm getting it."
First 30 minutes: "I need to come back next week."
The learning curve is what makes it addictive. Most people show up thinking they'll be a pro because they play Mario Kart. They leave humbled, grinning, and already planning their next visit.

Ready to Try It?
We're located at 4 Centre Drive, Suite D, Orchard Park, NY — just minutes from Buffalo, Hamburg, and West Seneca. Stop in, sit down, and find out what it actually feels like to drive an F1 car. No simulator can fully replicate the danger of going 220mph in a real race car — but this is as close as you're going to get without a helmet and a paramedic on standby.
